Kamar Aiken's Agent Says Wide Receiver Signing With Eagles

After putting a focus on trying to find some wide receiver talent this week, the Eagles are apparently bringing back a familiar face from the summer.

According to his agent, the Eagles are signing veteran wideout Kamar Aiken, who worked out for them Tuesday.

It's unclear what the corresponding roster move will be.

Aiken, 29, was with the Eagles all spring and summer, but failed to make much of an impact, especially after an injury sidelined him through final cuts.

It's hard to imagine he'll be a huge piece of the offense going forward, but the Eagles must think he's better than their other options. At least he knows the offense.

Aiken missed the final two preseason games, but played in the first two without recording a catch. In fact, he played 52 snaps in the first two preseason games and was targeted just once.

So that's why it's hard to imagine him coming back to the team now and making a huge difference for an offense that lacked firepower last week. But at least Aiken has had some success in the NFL before.

It's just been a while.

Aiken's last really good season came in 2015, when he caught 75 passes for 944 yards and five touchdowns. In the last two years, he had just 44 catches for 461 yards and one touchdown. Last year in Indy, particularly, didn't go well. He managed just 15 catches for 133 yards.

Perhaps the Eagles will get more out of him now that he's back on their roster. Maybe they'll at least get a little more production from someone before Alshon Jeffery makes his return from a torn rotator cuff.
