Jerry Jones Hilariously Compares Cowboys to Rams

Oh, Jerry, please don't ever change.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas Friday, and the subject of the Rams came up, in the wake of their 38-31 nationally-televised win over the Vikings on Thursday night. Jones was asked how his offense matches up with that of the Rams.

"I like our offensive line, when it stacks up against the Rams," Jones said. "I think it's fair to say that we've both got good running backs."

OK, both are fair comparisons. When healthy, the Cowboys' O-line is top 10, easily. And Ezekiel Elliott is among the best RBs in football.

Here's where Jones took a hard turn away from Reality Town:

"We've been just as proud of Dak [Prescott] as those that are Rams fans have been proud of their QB [Jared Goff]," Jones said.

"They had [wide receiver Tavon] Austin, we've got Austin this year. When I see what we might be able to do and I put my finger on personnel ... I don't think it's a reach to think that maybe we can approach that kind of productivity."

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold everything.

Yes, there are similarities between the offenses of the Cowboys and the Rams beyond the offensive line and the running back spot. Both teams have a quarterback, wide receivers and tight ends. That's the end of the list.

Including Thursday's game, the Rams rank second in the NFL in yards per game and points per game. Dallas ranks ahead of only the Cardinals in points per game (13.7), and only Arizona and the Bills average fewer yards per game (277.7).

And circling back to Jones' pride in Prescott, there's this: Goff threw four touchdown passes in the first half last night against the Vikings. That's more TD passes than Prescott has in his last six games (three).

These departures from reality are a good thing for the Eagles and their fans. As long as Jones thinks things are going well, he won't push to make any changes. And without serious changes, the Cowboys won't be able to compete with the Eagles.

So keep on keepin' on, Jerry. We're proud of Dak, too.
