Even After Super Bowl, National Disrespect for Eagles Remains

No one likes us, we don't care.

Even after winning the Super Bowl, the disrespect continues. The Eagles open up the season tonight at home against the team they narrowly defeated in the playoffs last season, and will do so in front what promises to be a raucous crowd on banner night.

The team opened as four-point favorites, which has dwindled down to just one, but despite the odds indicating that tonight's game is 50/50, the experts have come out in full support of the visitors from Atlanta.

Let's take a look at how the experts from ESPN and CBS are predicting this one tonight. That's 14 picks for the Falcons and just three for the Eagles.

I get it. The Eagles haven't looked great in the preseason, will be emotional from the banner ceremony and have their second-choice under center with a dinged up receiving corps. But if the game is 50/50 in Vegas, why did 14 people pick the Falcons and just three picked the Eagles?

For what it's worth, in our expert predictions, four of our six analysts picked the Eagles.

The Eagles are 6-1 against the Falcons at Lincoln Financial Field.

Nick Foles has won 10 straight home regular season games that he has started and finished in an Eagles uniform dating back to 2013.

The Eagles were 9-1 last season at home, including two playoff wins.

All things considered, it feels like the Eagles should have a little more national support.

Let's prove them wrong, again.
