The Eagles (4-4) are hosting the rival Dallas Cowboys (3-5) at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday night.

The other side
The Eagles didn't have a very good first half of the season. They clawed their way back to .500 with a win over the Jaguars in London before the bye week, which gave them new life. Still, the first half of the season didn't go the way the Eagles wanted. The biggest glaring problem is that their offense hasn't scored enough. They're down over 6.0 per game from last season. That's not going to get it done. There are other problems too. The defense has been pretty good overall, but has given up late leads a couple of times in really bad losses.
But the Eagles have eight games left on their schedule and five of them are against division opponents. They have a chance to win their division if they take care of business.
A Golden era
This will be the first game for Golden Tate in midnight green (scratch that, the Eagles are wearing all black). But, anyway, it'll be his first chance to play with the Eagles after getting traded from Detroit for a third-round pick.
There's the thought that maybe the Eagles will need to bring Tate along slowly. That better not be the case (see story). The Eagles traded an asset for a guy who has just eight games left on his contract. He needs to perform well from the jump.
Battered and bruised
The Eagles aren't going to have Jalen Mills, Sidney Jones or Darren Sproles for this game. They are expected to have Jason Peters and Lane Johnson, but that means their starting left and right tackles are coming into this game banged up. Peters has a biceps tear and is still coming off a quad injury, while Johnson already had a high ankle sprain and now is attempting to play with a Grade 2 MCL sprain (see story).
That's kind of crazy, so it's worth watching to see if these two hold up during the game. If they don't, Halapoulivaati Vaitai, Isaac Seumalo and Stefen Wisniewski have to be ready as the backup plans.
