Eagles Snap Counts: Big V Plays More Than Half After Johnson's Concussion

Lane Johnson went into the tunnel at halftime and his day was over. The Eagles' right tackle, who has been playing at a Pro Bowl level, suffered a concussion and was out for the game.

So Halapoulivaati Vaitai came in and played the entire second half of the 34-7 win over the Cardinals. He finished with 34 snaps to Johnson's 33. Coming into Sunday, Johnson hadn't missed a snap. He played 328 plays this year before he left the game.

Big V actually played pretty well. According to ProFootballFocus, Vaitai didn't give up a sack, quarterback hit or quarterback hurry in his 34 plays.

The Eagles stuck with the rotation at left guard despite their early success with Stefen Wisniewski in the lineup. Wiz ended up playing 42 snaps, while Chance Warmack got the remaining 25. On the WIP morning show Monday, head coach Doug Pederson said they'll continue to evaluate the rotation.

With Wendell Smallwood (knee) missing for Sunday's game - he led the running backs in snaps last week - there were plenty of snaps to go around. LeGarrette Blount led the way with 26 (39 percent), followed by Corey Clement (23) and Kenjon Barner (17). Those were the first offensive snaps of the season for Barner, while Clement set a new career high.

Blount carried the ball 14 times for 74 yards, Barner carried it five times for 23 and Corey Clement had seven carries for 17 yards.

Alshon Jeffery continues to play more than the other receivers on the team (53 snaps). He didn't have much production though, finishing with three catches for 31 yards.

At corner, Jalen Mills left the field very briefly and finished with 58 of 60 snaps. Patrick Robinson played 46, while Rasul Douglas got just 20.

Eric Rowe tracker
We are keeping an eye on Rowe in New England all season. If he plays more than 50 percent of the Patriots' defensive snaps this season, that 2018 fourth-round pick the Eagles got in exchange for him will turn into a third-rounder.

It's beginning to look like Rowe's injured groin is going to prevent the Eagles from getting a third-rounder. Rowe was inactive on Thursday against the Bucs with his injury, which has let him play just 19 snaps in the last three weeks.

Week 1: 37 of 69 snaps
Week 2: 34 of 65 snaps
Week 3: 0 of 71 snaps
Week 4: 19 of 63 snaps
Week 5: 0 of 72 snaps

2017: 90 of 358 (25.1 percent)
