Eagles Injury Update: Several Key Players Out of Practice to Start Dallas Week

Thanks to the short week, as the Eagles prepare to face the Cowboys on Sunday in Dallas, they didn't hold a normal Wednesday practice today. Instead, they had a walkthrough.

Because of that, Wednesday's official injury report is an estimation based on if they actually held a full practice.

Did not practice: Jordan Hicks (calf), Tim Jernigan (back), Avonte Maddox (knee, ankle), Jalen Mills (foot), Jason Peters (ankle)

Limited: Josh Adams (shoulder), Michael Bennett (foot)

Some notes:

• Interesting that Hicks and Maddox were listed among the guys who did not practice. Yesterday, Doug Pederson seemed optimistic those guys might be able to make a return this week. He also said Mills is "further away," so it's no surprise he's not practicing yet. Don't count on Mills for Sunday.

• Pederson said he expected Jernigan and Peters to play Sunday, but they're not off to a good start. Of the two, I think Jernigan is the bigger concern. Peters got his ankle rolled up on during the game and even if he misses some practice time this week, they'll tape him up before Sunday's game and he'll be able to play.

Jernigan, on the other hand, has back spasms. He was unable to play Monday night after those spasms started acting up during warmups. That's obviously concerning for a guy who had offseason back surgery and missed the first few months of the season because of it. Jim Schwartz said Jernigan provided a spark in his return against the Giants, but I'm starting to wonder if they're going to be able to rely on him the rest of this season. We'll see if he's able to practice later this week.

• That's a new injury for Adams (shoulder). He presumably hurt his shoulder during the game. He had already been dealing with a hip injury going into Monday. He didn't show up on last week's injury report until Saturday and went into Monday night listed as questionable. He has become the Eagles' starting running back but has dealt with his fair share of injuries during his rookie season.

• Bennett has been dealing with that foot injury he suffered during the Giants game. He played through it in that game and played against Washington even after missing some practice time last week. Don't expect him to miss any games because of it.
