Eagles Injury Update: Alshon Jeffery Progressing, But Not There Yet

Updated: 2:04 p.m.

It looks like the Eagles will have to wait at least one more week before they get Alshon Jeffery back.

The Eagles' top receiver has been practicing as a limited participant again this week, but head coach Doug Pederson on Friday morning said Jeffery (shoulder) has not yet been cleared for contact.

"He's looking strong, running good routes and we're progressing day by day with him," Pederson said.

Jeffery might be back next week in Nashville or the following week against the Vikings. He's listed as questionable for Sunday.

As for the Eagles' other injured players, Jay Ajayi (back) and Darren Sproles (hamstring) have missed practice every day this week, including Friday. Both players will be out Sunday. Corey Clement (quad) is a late addition to the injury report. He's listed as questionable.

Jason Peters (quad) has been a limited participant this week and officially listed as questionable. Pederson said they're just trying to do whatever they can to get Peters ready to play on Sunday. But even if Peters can play, there's a chance he might not be able to finish the game. That means Halapoulivaati Vaitai would be taking over at LT, protecting the blindside in Carson Wentz's return.

Pederson said he hasn't even thought about that. Injuries are a part of the game, he said.

As for Wentz, he's had a good week of practice back with the first-team offense. The entire team seems to have a little more juice now that the franchise quarterback has returned.

"He's looked good, looked sharp," Pederson said. "Mentally, physically looked well. Throwing the ball strong. All the things that we've seen through his rehab and a lot of the workouts he's had, he's carrying it right over to this week."

LB Kamu Grugier-Hill (groin), who's played a key role so far this season on specials teams and defense, is also listed as questionable.

The Eagles won't be the only team missing a number of key players. According to owner Jim Irsay, six Colts are out for Sunday's game.
