Eagles Benefit After Ravens Make ‘all-time Worst Call Ever'

Late in the fourth quarter, it looked like the Ravens were about to finish off the Eagles and turn Sunday's game into a laugher.

The Ravens were up 10, 27-17, with just over six minutes to go. They had 1st-and-10 at the Eagles' 11. If they gained no more yards, Ravens standout kicker Justin Tucker likely would have made the game a two-touchdown affair after three runs gnawed off two minutes of clock.

But the Ravens chose to pass the ball in a questionable play call and Joe Flacco was intercepted by Jordan Hicks, opening the door for the Eagles' comeback which fell just short (see Instant Replay).

“All-time worst call ever,” Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said. “I’ll take responsibility for it. I should have vetoed it right away. I like an aggressive mindset, but that was way too aggressive. It’s the worst play call we’ve had, and it’s my fault."

The play call was made by offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, who Eagles fans are quite familiar with after his long stint running their offense.
