Eagles at Redskins 2018: Start Time, TV Schedule, Live Stream and Storylines for NFL Week 17

The Eagles crushed the Redskins 24-0 at FedEx Field and then got a little bit of help from the Bears, who beat the Vikings 24-10, eliminating Minnesota from playoff contention.

What to Know

  • The Philadelphia Eagles are playoff-bound after beating the Redskins 24-0.
  • The Bears beat the Vikings 24-10, allowing the Eagles to clinch a wild card spot.
  • The Eagles are the sixth seed in the playoffs and will travel to Chicago to face the Bears next weekend in the Wild Card round.

The Eagles are (8-7) and are holding out hope they can still sneak into the playoffs. They need to beat the Redskins (7-8) on Sunday or that's impossible.

Help!

The Eagles need to beat the Redskins or nothing else matters. But beating the Redskins isn't enough. The Eagles need some help from the Bears … and really from the 49ers. See, the Bears need to beat the Vikings for the Eagles to make it into the playoffs. But the only reason the Bears will play their starters is if there's a chance they can earn the No. 2 seed and the first-round bye that comes with it. So the Bears will be watching that Rams-49ers game. If the 49ers can keep that game close, the Bears will think they have a chance and continue to play. That's what the Eagles need to happen.

Their own fault

Don't feel bad for the Eagles. You might want to if they don't make the playoffs. Because there's a chance they beat Washington, which means they would've won five of their last six games and still not get in. But if that happens, remember back to the Tennessee game, remember back to the Carolina game or the Dallas game. The Eagles had chances to win games this year and blew them. They have only themselves to blame if they don't make it in.

Final game

Earlier this week, I made a list of notable Eagles who might be playing their final games with the team on Sunday: Brandon Graham, Michael Bennett, Nick Foles, Corey Graham, Jordan Hicks, Tim Jernigan, Chris Long, Haloti Ngata, Jason Peters, Darren Sproles, Golden Tate. That's not to say some of them won't be back next year, but there are at least questions about those guys and many more. Turnover in the NFL happens every year, but as the Eagles get further away from their Super Bowl title, we're going to inevitably see some very popular names leave town.
