Eagles' Christian Hackenberg Gets Off to Rough Start in Eagles' Preseason Finale

The Christian Hackenberg era is off to a rough start.

The Eagles' fifth-string quarterback got into his first game action with the Eagles and his first drive against his former team didn't go well.

With the Eagles trailing, 3-0, Hackenberg got on the field with just over 12 minutes left in the second quarter.

Here are the plays from the drive:

• Sacked for three yards

• Illegal formation on Jordan Mailata

• Delay of game

• Pass to Anthony Denham for 15 yards

• Interception from Hackenberg, picked off by Juston Burris

The interception didn't appear to be all Hackenberg's fault. Maybe Rashard Davis didn't run the right route. Either way, not good.

Hackenberg was signed earlier this summer and doesn't have a chance to make the Eagles' roster. But if he shows enough Thursday night, he could maybe make it on the practice squad or at least entice another team to give him a shot.

The former second-round pick of the Jets isn't off to a good start, but after taking over for Joe Callahan, he'll play the rest of the game.
