Eagles Injury Update: Dallas Goedert Returns to Practice; Christian Hackenberg Suits Up

Dallas Goedert returned to practice Monday, two days after suffering the most celebrated minor arm injury in NFL history.

Goedert left open practice at the Linc early Saturday morning after hurting his right elbow. Despite a day of Twitter panic following widespread rumors that he had broken his arm, the injury was not serious.

"Just a bump and a bruise," Goedert said Sunday.

Goedert sat out practice Sunday but was back for Monday's session, which was moved indoors because of rain.

All the other injured guys remained out Monday: receivers Nelson Agholor, Mack Hollins and Markus Wheaton, running backs Corey Clement and Donnel Pumphrey and linebacker Asantay Brown.

Clement and Hollins got hurt in the preseason opener vs. the Steelers Thursday night. The others have been sidelined longer.

Meanwhile, the newest Eagle, Christian Hackenberg, was in uniform and participating at the start of practice Monday morning.

He was wearing jersey No. 8, most recently worn by punter Donnie Jones. The last Eagles quarterback to wear No. 8 was Preston Jones, who was with the team briefly in 1993.

Hackenberg, the one-time Penn State star and second-round pick of the Jets in 2016, never played for the Jets. He was traded to the Raiders for a seventh-round pick in May but didn't make it to training camp.
