Eagles Inactives: Brandon Brooks Out for 2nd Time in 3 Weeks Because of Illness

For the second time in three weeks, the Eagles will be without right guard Brandon Brooks because of illness.

Brooks, who missed the Packers' game two weeks ago with what he called a stomach bughttp://www.csnphilly.com/philadelphia-eagles/after-hospital-stint-brandon-brooks-feeling-fine-back-practice, is out for Sunday’s game against Washington with an undisclosed illness.

Brooks has a history of stomach ulcers, but claimed that wasn’t the problem a couple week ago.

With Brooks out, rookie Isaac Seumalo is expected to make his second career start. The offensive line should look like this: Jason Peters, Stefen Wisniewski, Jason Kelce, Isaac Seumalo, Allen Barbre.

Josh Andrews is active as a backup.

Dorial Green-Beckham (abdomen) is also inactive Sunday. Green-Beckham was injured during the Bengals' game last week in Cincinnati and was unable to practice all week. He came into the weekend listed as questionable.

The other two Eagles who were listed as questionable coming into the week, Jordan Matthews (ankle) and Ryan Mathews (knee), are both active. That means the Eagles have their top running back and receiver back for Sunday.

Matthews missed last week’s game in Cincinnati with an ankle injury. It was the first time he’s ever missed a football game, dating back to little league. He said during the week that he was looking forward to returning (see story).http://www.csnphilly.com/philadelphia-eagles/jordan-matthews-eager-return-after-missing-first-ever-game

The Eagles have four receivers active again. With Matthews’ injury, head coach Doug Pederson said he might lean toward using tight ends more Sunday, like he did last week.

Mathews missed the last two games with an MCL sprain. In those two games, the Eagles had their two worst rushing performances of the year.

Green-Beckham joins Halapoulivaati Vaitai (knee) on the inactive list. The rest of the Eagles’ inactive players are RB Kenjon Barner, LB Kamu Grugier-Hill, OL Dillon Gordon, DT Taylor Hart.

This will be the first time this season Barner will be inactive. The team will have just three running backs active: Mathews, Wendell Smallwood and Darren Sproles.

Washington inactives: QB Nate Sudfield, WR Rashad Ross, RB Matt Jones, S Will Blackmon, OG Spencer Long, DE Anthony Lanier II, OG Shawn Lauvao.
