DeSean Jackson Reportedly Wants Out of Tampa, and Eagles Would Be Great Fit

As the NFL's trade deadline rapidly approaches, an old friend reportedly wants to be moved.

And Philadelphia could be a great landing spot.

DeSean Jackson has reportedly requested for the Buccaneers to trade him, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Sound the sirens in Philly, even though the Bucs apparently don't want to move him.

Jackson turns 32 in December, but he hasn't shown signs of that age. In fact, he got off to a hot start this season, going over 100 yards in three of his first four games (including a 129-yard performance against the Eagles). But the Bucs have been spiraling some since then and his production has dropped without Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback.

If Jackson is available, he would be exactly what the Eagles need this season: a deep threat.

Since the Eagles lost Mike Wallace to a fractured fibula earlier this season, they've been missing that deep threat to stretch the field. They haven't even had Mack Hollins, who is also on IR.

To me, this is the Eagles' biggest need right now. It's more important than running back, defensive lineman and defensive back. They desperately need someone who can stretch the field. Maybe the Eagles can hold out hope Wallace can return for Week 11, but Jackson is an even better deep threat.

This season, Jackson has four catches of 40-plus yards. As a team, the Eagles have five and two of them have come from Nelson Agholor in the slot.

Jackson's salary isn't bad at all. The Eagles would be on the hook for about $6 million of Jackson's remaining salary this season, but they can fit it in. They have $10 million in salary cap space.

And next season, Jackson's cap hit is $10 million, but it's not guaranteed. They could cut him or restructure.

How much will it cost to trade for him? Not sure, but for the Eagles, it's a call worth making.
