Carson Wentz to Hold 2nd AO1 Foundation Charity Softball Game in May

Carson Wentz's inaugural AO1 Foundation Charity Softball Game was a resounding success, so it's not much of a surprise that the event is back.

The AO1 Foundation on Monday afternoon announced the second-annual game will be held at Citizens Bank Park again on Friday, May 31, 2019.

Tickets won't go on sale for a while, but you can bet they'll go quickly. The inaugural event - held on June 1, 2018 - sold 25,000 tickets and raised over $850,000.

Like last year, the night will start with a home run derby at 6:30 p.m., followed by the softball game at 7:30. Wentz got a ton of his teammates at the game last year and it made for a good night. He and Jordan Hicks were captains and picked their respective teams. There will again be a silent auction and merchandise will be sold at the event in May.

Maybe this year, Wentz will even be able to play in the game. He obviously didn't play in the first one as he was rehabbing from his torn ACL and LCL.

At the inaugural event, there was a huge crowd for a charity game and the atmosphere throughout the night was really fun. Last year, parking was free and gates opened at 4 p.m.

To put that crowd in perspective, 11 MLB teams had lower than 25,000 people in average attendance in 2018. Wentz might come close to filling Citizens Bank Park this year after he filled the lower bowl last year.

According to the AO1 Foundation, the money raised from this year's event will go to the Haiti Sports Complex, Wentz's Thy Kingdom Crumb Food Truck and the AO1 Foundation's Outdoor Program.
