Brandon Graham Headlines Eagles' Six Pro Bowl Alternates

Brandon Graham just became a Seahawks fan.

Because if the Seahawks go to the Super Bowl, he goes to the Pro Bowl.

Graham learned Tuesday evening that he’s the first alternate defensive end for the NFC Pro Bowl team. The three ends selected are Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett of the Seahawks and Everson Griffen of the Vikings.

If the Seahawks reach the Super Bowl, Avril and Bennett would drop out of the Pro Bowl, which is now held the week before the Super Bowl, and that would send Graham to Orlando for his first career Pro Bowl.

Kind of ironic, isn't it? Considering for years Graham was measured against Seahawks safety Earl Thomas, who the Seahawks selected one pick after the Eagles took Graham in the first round of the 2010 draft.

Graham has 5½ sacks this year and has been credited with 11 tackles for loss and 26 hurries along with two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

Graham, who has played under five defensive coordinators in seven years with the Eagles, didn’t become a full-time starter until last year, when he recorded a career-high 6½ sacks.

With 29 career sacks, Graham ranks 17th in Eagles history but only four out of the top 10.

Safeties Rodney McLeod and Malcolm Jenkins were both also named alternates. McLeod is second alternate and Jenkins is third.

Center Jason Kelce and special teamer Chris Maragos are second alternates and running back and returner Darren Sproles is a third alternate.

The 2017 Pro Bowl is scheduled for Jan. 29 game at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla.
