Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots came into Philly, enjoyed our fine city, and left with a victory. And they had a little fun in the process.
Their enigmatic coach had plenty to say following the Pats victory, including what appeared to be a nice little dig at Lane Johnson.
As a quick refresher, Johnson was a guest on the "Pardon My Take" podcast following the Eagles victory in Super Bowl 52 and had some harsh things to say about the Patriots organization. Via our friends at NBCSP Boston:
"I just think that The Patriot Way is a fear-based organization," Johnson said. "Obviously, do they win? Hell yes, they win. They've won for a long time. Do I think people enjoy and can say, ‘I had a lot of fun playing there'? No, I don't. That's just the God's honest truth. "They're successful, but when they go to interviews, they act like [expletive] robots. Hey, stop being a [expletive] head. We can be cordial for a little bit. You only get to do this job one time, so let's have fun while we're doing it. Not to be reckless, but we'd much rather have fun and win a Super Bowl than be miserable and win five Super Bowls. But hey, it is what it is."
Fast forward to yesterday evening following the Patriots victory in Philadelphia and Belichick had this choice line to the media: "They just did a good job. Looked like they all had fun out there today."
Oh snap. Points to the Evil Empire for the subtle dig. Belichick had to know what he was saying there, right? Had to.

Sunday wasn't as fun for Johnson who left the game with a head injury. The Eagles struggled mightily once Johnson departed and Wentz was under constant attack.
Safe to say it wasn't very fun.
