At Least One More Start Coming for Nick Foles

Coming off a record performance against the Texans on Sunday, Nick Foles will get at least one more start as the Eagles quarterback.

Foles will start in Week 17 against the Redskins next Sunday at 4:25 p.m., head coach Doug Pederson announced Monday.

Foles threw for a franchise-record 471 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday's 32-30 win over the Texans. It's very possible that was his final home game as a member of the Eagles.

While Foles will start this Sunday, Pederson said the plan is still to keep Carson Wentz on the 53-man roster as the franchise quarterback heals from a stress fracture in his back. Pederson said nothing has changed yet with Wentz's status.

Last week, though, Pederson was very clear that if and when Wentz was healthy, he would be the Eagles' starting quarterback, but he wasn't as definitive about that Monday after Foles set the franchise record for passing yards.

If the Eagles make it to the playoffs - which would take a win over Washington and a Vikings' loss to the Bears - it would probably mean Foles is still playing pretty well.

Would it be hard to bench Foles if he's still playing well?

"Those are obviously conversations we have to have," Pederson said. "They're tough decisions to make. I've said all along that Carson's our guy and if he's cleared and 100 percent and ready to go, then we'll address that at that time."

Initially, Pederson said Wentz's full recovery time would be three months, but the Eagles have since gotten more positive information about his injury. The head coach on Monday said it's hard to put a timetable on it.

The Eagles will get through this next (and very important) game and then reevaluate.

"It's hard to answer that just because we've got Washington and we've got to win," he said. "We've got to win this week and then we'll answer these questions next week. But I hope we're in that position."

As for the rest of the Eagles' injured players:

Jason Peters (quad) is day to day, as is Isaac Seumalo (pec). Sidney Jones (hamstring) is a little further away, per Pederson. Mike Wallace is expected to do some individual work in practice this week, so he will likely be designated for return from IR, but we'll find out later this week if he'll really be able to play.
