“Chooch” Is a Dad Again, 9 Months After Halladay's Perfect Game

Phils' catcher now has two sons named Carlos

Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz left Clearwater to fly home to Panama this week for the birth of his second son.

Baby Carlos was born "nine months to the day of Roy Halladay's perfect game," SI.com's Bryan Graham tweeted Thursday.

And it gets better. They named the little guy Carlos, just like Chooch's 8-year-old son (although he's technically a Jr.). George Foreman ought to get a laugh out of that one -- the man who gave his name to all five of his sons and one of his daughters. "I wanted to make sure I didn't forget anyone's name," Foreman's often said.

We're not sure yet what the same-name philosophy is in the Ruiz house, but mom, Carlos, Carlos and baby Carlos are all doing well, according to Philly.com Sports.

Ruiz is expected to be back in Clearwater Friday.
