March Madness Comes to a Bar Near You

These deals are sweeter than a no-look pass

The sun is shining. The birds are chirping. Surely, this weekend you plan on spending a lot of time outside in the gorgeous weather.

If you don’t, you’re crazy or you're just suffering from some March Madness

Here are a few spots around Philly to watch your brackets get busted while throwing back a couple of cold ones.

McFadden’s Ballpark
Yes, we know it would be a tease to send you to Citizens Bank Park during this gorgeous baseball-friendly weather. But, so what. Until the Phillies return, you can go enjoy March Madness on about 40 HDTV’s, and two huge projection screens.

This sports oasis opens at 11 a.m., with open bar, buffet, and party packages starting at $40 per person.

Mad River Manayunk
Pop in to Mad River this weekend to watch some of the games on one of their 22 Plasma TV’s. During every game, $3 Bud and Bud Lights will be flowing like a fast-break ally-oop.

If you get there for the postgame on Saturday night, they’ll be switching it up to $3 Coors Light drafts and $3 Lager drafts as well.

The River is definitely a spot to check out if you’re cruising Main Street, especially if they have the deck open out back.

Chickie’s and Pete’s
As if Chickie’s and Pete’s wasn’t the place to be for any other sporting event, it gets a lot better this weekend during hardwood havoc. Head on down to grab a bucket of world famous crab fries, and enjoy cold Coors Lights ($3 bottles, $2.50 drafts) and Blue Moons ($4 bottles, $3.50 drafts) during all of the games.

The Tournament Special (at the Northeast location) is a steal as you can down plenty of food and beverages during Saturday's games.

South Philly Bar & Grill
Nestled right in between Pat’s and Geno’s Steaks on Passyunk Ave., this slice of South Philly heaven is a great spot to catch any game. Boasting twelve beers on tap, 11 flat screens, and an outdoor patio, there is no reason why you shouldn’t swing through.

If you’re a Villanova Wildcats fan, this spot is where you want to catch the action. *Disclaimer: Anyone wearing an out-of-town jersey/apparel may be subject to ridicule and/or hurt feelings.
