Ben Simmons Named Eastern Conference Player of the Week

Add another trophy to Ben Simmons' trophy case. The Sixers rookie has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the first time in his career.

Simmons sparked the Sixers' 4-0 record last week, beating Brooklyn, Detroit, Cleveland and Dallas.

In the four wins, he averaged 18.5 points, 10 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game. From the field during the week, Simmons shot 70.2 percent, the highest mark of any player who attempted at least 40 field goals during the week. He's helped carry the team with the absence of Joel Embiid.

Simmons was previously named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for October, November, January and February.

Of course, the Sixers are just staying hot. The last four wins are just the latest during their 14-game win streak that began back on March 15. They're hot heading into the playoffs. During that winning streak, Simmons has averaged a triple-double with 14.7 points, 10.1 rebounds and 10.9 assists per game.

He's one of just three players (along with LeBron James and Russell Westbrook) to average a triple-double for a span of at least 10 games this season.

For the season, Simmons is averaging 16.0 points, 8.1 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 1.7 steals per game. He's on pace to be the second rookie ever (Oscar Robertson) to put up 16, 8 and 8 in a season.
