Asante Sits Out in Big D

Rodgers-Cromartie to start in his place

The Eagles will need to try and stop Tony Romo and the talented Cowboys receiving corps without one of their biggest pass stoppers.

Four-time Pro Bowl CB Asante Samuel (hamstring) was ruled out for Saturday’s game in Dallas.

The 30-year-old had three interceptions, a forced fumble and 30 tackles while playing every game for the Birds this season.

Fellow former Pro Bowler Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will start for the 6-8 Birds as they try to stay alive in the division race against the 8-6 Cowboys.

With DRC starting aside Nnamdi Asomugha, expect Joselio Hanson to see time covering the slot receiver.

With Nnamdi and DRC being forced to likely exclusively cover Dallas wideouts Dez Bryant and Miles Austin, expect Romo to target third-wideout Laurent Robinson and TE Jason Witten early and often in Big D.
