Another Game, Another Miracle From Nick Foles

CHICAGO - Another playoff game, another fourth-quarter deficit.

Another Nick Foles miracle.

He did it again, and even though the Bears did give Eagles fans a huge scare at the end, Foles and the Eagles once again found a way to win a playoff game in the final minutes.

After the Bears had regained the lead with nine minutes left in the fourth quarter, Foles drove the team 60 yards and gave the Eagles an insane 16-15 wild-card round win over the Bears with a two-yard fourth-down TD pass to Golden Tate with 56 seconds left.

He rallied the Eagles from a third-quarter deficit against the Falcons last year and won the Super Bowl with a late TD pass to Zach Ertz.

That's four straight playoff wins for the Eagles, four straight playoff wins for Foles.

Incredible.

Foles threw two early interceptions, but with Nick Foles all that really matters is what's on the scoreboard at the end of the game.

He just wins.

What I learned on those (playoff) stages is how to calm myself in a chaotic moment when (to) the outside world there's a ton of pressure and just really simplifying it in my head," Foles said. "Getting in the huddle with the guys I trust, knowing it's all on the line for us and we're just going to get the job done. It's just believe in one another. That's just from being around these guys. That's what wins these games in the fourth quarter. That brotherhood.

Foles' TD pass to Tate was the first fourth-down game-winner in the final two minutes of a postseason game in at least 25 years.

With the season on the line, Foles was out there looking as relaxed as if he were tossing the ball around in a spring minicamp practice.

This is a crazy place to play," he said. "First half we struggled on offense, I struggled, threw a couple picks, but the last drive was really stay in the moment, play to play, let's keep it going, let's march. We didn't have to do anything crazy, just make plays.

This was the Eagles' first road playoff win since 2008 and only their fifth since 1950.

It's hard to ignore what Foles has done since he replaced an injured Carson Wentz.

He's now 4-0 with four wins over teams that were a combined 43-21.

He just does a great job staying in the moment, staying calm, and no panic," Doug Pederson said. "It's playing quarterback in the National Football League. It's not always going to be pretty. You have confidence in your quarterback and you put it in his hands to win it.

Incredibly, Foles is now tied for the eighth-most postseason wins among all active NFL quarterbacks.

And he's never been a full-time starter.

Here's the company he's in:

27 … Tom Brady
13 … Ben Roethlisberger
10 … Joe Flacco
9 … Aaron Rodgers
8 … Russell Wilson
8 … Eli Manning
7 … Drew Brees
4 … Nick Foles, Matt Ryan, Philip Rivers, Andrew Luck, Mark Sanchez

"He never tries to do too much," Zach Ertz said. "He plays within himself on every play. The moment's never too big for him and he just (has) that calm and positive attitude."

Foles was already a Philly legend before this latest run. On a chilly Sunday far from home, he added another remarkable chapter to his miracle story.
