    The most popular sporting event watched around the globe kicked off Thursday. The World Cup, featuring 32 national teams, will take place in 11 cities across Russia, finishing with one country named world champion July 15.

    We understand that some of the cheapest tickets to Russia cost hundreds of dollars, so our partner Telemundo 62 teamed up with the hottest places in Philly to watch the tournament.

    The 700
    700 N 2nd St, Philadelphia 

    The 700, a casual bar in Northern Liberties, prides itself on more than 80 bottled beers and an assortment of wine and spirits -- as well as all-you-can-watch soccer as part of their “Footy on the Telly” program.

    Fado Irish Pub
    1500 Locust St., Philadelphia

    This Irish pub located in Center City calls itself the World Cup headquarters. Fado will be showing every match live and also offers watch parties for groups. Food and drink specials will be available for fans during all the games.

    Misconduct Tavern

    Misconduct Tavern serves American food and a collection of alcoholic beverages from $4.50 to $13. This casual bar is just three blocks from Rittenhouse Square.

    The Victoria Freehouse
    10 S Front St, Philadelphia, PA 19106

    This classy pub with modern and classic British food and U.K. beers on tap will be celebrating all month long as the English National Team competes in the World Cup. Even if England doesn’t make it to the round of 16, The Victoria Freehouse still vows to show matches while they are open.

    O’Neals

    This Irish and sports bar in South Philly says it is South Street's longest-running family owned and operated Irish pub. With multiple floors to watch games, play games or enjoy eating and drinking with friends, O’Neals has something to offer everyone, especially during the world’s most popular sporting event.

    Bard’s

    Another Irish pub located in center city, Bard’s offers Irish hospitality to all fans, as well as late-night happy hours and large screen HD TVs.

    Vesper Sporting Club

    This modern-day supper club with an old-school feel is tucked away in Philly’s Center City. This World Cup they too have teamed up with Telemundo62 to bring all of the best coverage on with mega screens that surround the club.

    Field House
    1150 Filbert St., Philadelphia

    This beer garden and restaurant prides itself as being one of the best places in Center City to watch a sporting event. Located above the Jefferson Train Station and directly across from Reading Terminal Market, Field House is offering FIFA World Cup drink specials including $3 Bud Light drafts and $4 Neshaminy Creek drafts during the matches. Fans should contact their event coordinator to reserve a table.

    The Black Sheep
    247 S 17th St., Philadelphia

    Attention all England fans! This Irish pub located at 17th and Latimer streets will be opening early for all England matches and some Mexico matches, by request. They welcome everyone, however, to come in and watch any of the matches starting at 11 a.m. They will be offering $4 Carlsberg pints for all the fans cheering their team to victory.

    Brauhaus Schmitz
    718 South St., Philadelphia

    This German restaurant and beer hall prides itself on 30 draft beers to choose from and authentic German cuisine. In hopes that Germany regains another World Cup trophy, Brauhaus Schmitz will offer specials and VIP options during their matches:

    Germany vs. Mexico, June 17 at 11 a.m.

    Germany vs. Sweden, June 23 at 2 p.m.

    Germany vs. South Korea, June 27 at 10 a.m.

    $10 will get you a general admission ticket to watch the game including a complimentary beer, or fans can pay $60 for bottomless beer, food, and a great view on the 10-foot projection screen.

    Vista Peru

    This restaurant and Pisco Bar located in Old City Philadelphia is a Peruvian favorite that has impacted a lot of people with their gastronomy.

    Vista Peru will be a very important place for many Peruvians, because after 36 years the Peruvian National Team has obtained the pass for the World Cup. Without any doubt this restaurant will have an exquisite menu on gameday. Although they will show every game, here are two of the most popular games that Vista Peru will bring down a projected screen for viewers:

    Perú vs Denmark – June 16 at 12 p.m.

    Spain vs Portugal -- June 15 at 2 p.m.

    Vista Peru has 2 floors which will be integrated to celebrate the victories of each game.

    Cuba Libre
    10 S 2nd St., Philadelphia

    This Cuban restaurant and rum bar is a popular spot to eat and dance on a late night. This month, however, they will be hosting watch parties for three special group games of the World Cup:

    Colombia vs. Poland, June 24 at 2 p.m.

    Spain vs. Morocco, June 25 at 2 p.m.

    Nigeria vs. Argentina, June 26 at 2 p.m.

    Cuba Libre will offer happy hour specials during game time, which includes $4 to $6 bar bites, $5 to $6 cocktails and $4 beer, wine and sangria. They will also show every World Cup game during regular hours.

    Fox and Hound
    1501 Spruce St., Philadelphia

    Known for showing sporting events throughout the year, this popular bar and grill will show all games during the hours they are open. They also will offer drink specials throughout the tournament. If you or someone you know are interested in watching a game earlier in the morning, you can give them a call at 215-732-8610.

    Kildare’s West Chester
    18 W Gay St., West Chester

    A casual spot with traditional British food such as fish and chips, Kildare’s West Chester will show all of the World Cup matches with surround sound and multiple TVs. A World Cup breakfast menu will be available until noon each day. Kildare's is also hosting a bracket challenge, and winners will receive awards such as jerseys, coolers, gift cards and much more.
