Westbrook Prankster Punks ESPN

Sportscenter gets punked by Westbrook prankster

ESPN thought they were talking to dispatched Eagles running back Brian Westbrook Tuesday night. Instead of B-West they got punked.

Everyone wanted to talk to B-West on the day the Birds released their franchise leader in yards from scrimmage.

ESPN thought they had the scoop but they weren’t so lucky.

A prankster claiming that he was the eight-year NFL vet got past ESPN’s filters and on a live phone interview with ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt.

Even a casual Eagles’ fan could tell this wasn’t B-West just from how he sounded. Instead it was allegedly Howard Stern’s infamous prankster Captain Janks, a.k.a. Thomas Cipriano of North Wales, Pa., according to the Daily News’ Eagletarian.

Van Pelt and ESPN was onto the prank right after Janks said:

"I have nothing but respect for Coach Andy Reid and I look forward to a future of worshiping the prostate of Howard Stern."

Van Pelt, despite being visibly flustered, still managed to make a joke saying, “Hi YouTube.”

Well, Van Pelt was onto something as the video has quickly become an online hit.

As for the real B-West, the former Eagle surfaced on 97.5 the Fanatic Wednesday morning.

In an interview with NBCPhiladelphia’s Vai Sikahema, 97.5’s Brian Seltzer and the Inquirer’s John Gonzalez.

Westbrook didn't sound bitter and took no parting shots at the Eagles brass.

“I really appreciate all the support I got,” said Westbrook.

B-West also plans to continue to play despite concerns after various injuries including concussions.

"I will make a return to the NFL," he said.
