Nova Legend's Final Days

Reynolds has certainly made the best of his time with the Wildcats

Scottie Reynolds turned down mega bucks in the NBA to take care of some unfinished business at Villanova.

After a run to the Final Four Reynolds wanted to lead the Wildcats to a title.

Reynolds, the Big Five’s biggest name, played his final game at the Pavilion on Senior Night Wednesday. The guard drained 21 to lead the Cats to a 74-49 win over South Florida.

The Cats still have another home game but it will be played at the Wachovia Center.

Before their last true home game, Reynolds and fellow seniors Russell Wooten and Reggie Redding were honored for their time at Nova.

Out of the 41 games that the senior Wildcats have played on Nova’s home court, they have won 39 of them. The Cardiac Cats are currently on a 36-game Pavilion winning streak behind Reynolds and Co.

Reynolds, a Virginia native who initially committed to Oklahoma out of high school, might not of ended up in Nova had former head coach Kelvin Sampson not left the Sooners for Indiana.

Instead of the Midwest he wound up out the Main Line -- the rest is history.

Reynolds knows that Senior Night wasn't a coronation and that the Cats still have history to make.

"We still have a long way to go before we play our last game," Reynolds told Philly.com. "We feel like we have more to accomplish. Until then, our job as leaders and captains isn’t done. It won't be until we take off that jersey for the last time.”
