This Week's Winner of The NBC10 “Game of the Week” Is

This week's winner of the NBC10 "Game of the Week," is West Catholic Preparatory High School versus Imhotep Institute Charter High School.

The two teams will meet again in a matchup this Friday at  6:30 p.m. at the Northwest Super Site, 1100 E. Sedgewick Avenue. Imhotep will be the home team.

The West Catholic/Imhotep game won with 47-percent of this week’s votes. The Spring-Ford/Neshaminy game finished second with 33-percent of the votes, and the Washington Township/Cherokee game came in third with 20-percent.

It's playoff time, so it's a win or go home situation.

The Imhotep and West Catholic football coaches are friends and former teammates. Ironically, West Catholic coach Brian Faluck and Imhotep coach Albert Crosby played football together in grade school and at West Catholic. Crosby coached under Faluck at West Catholic before taking the head coaching job at Imhotep.

Although there's existing friendships between the two teams, there's still a strong spirit of competition in the air.

"We are just staying focused and understand the target at hand is to just keep doing the things that we do," said Crosby. "We are very physical as a big team but very fast as well. We got a little bit of both power and speed."

Crosby says his team is one of the biggest offensive lines in Pennsylvania. Imhotep has a 10-1 record and boasts 10 seniors going on to play Division I football.

West Catholic is 9-2 and winners of the Catholic League II-A championship, their 8th straight Catholic league title. "We are a winning program with along tradition of excellence in football," said Faluck. "It's a very proud tradition. This is a going to be a great test because this is a good team," Faluck said.

West Catholic won the state championship in 2010 and Faluck is hoping to get that far this year, but is taking it "game by game."

The "Game of the Week" is chosen exclusively by viewers through online voting. The winning game is announced on the news every Wednesday and the matchup will receive extended post-game coverage on NBC10 News Fridays at 11 p.m. as well as on our brand-new show "NBC10 High School Blitz" which airs on Saturdays at 7 p.m.
