The Winner of This Week's NBC10 “Game of the Week,” is…

This week's winner of the NBC10 "Game of the Week," is Pennridge High School versus North Penn High School.

The North Penn Knights will have home field advantage and an excited crowd of fans when they face off for a night game against the Pennridge Rams on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

A total of 51,030 votes were cast in this week’s poll; that’s the second highest number of votes recorded in the history of High School Blitz!

The Pennridge/North Penn game won with 54-percent of the votes. The Holy Spirit/Millville game finished second with 33-percent of the votes, and the Shawnee/Cherokee game came in third with 13-percent.

The game comes on the weekend of North Penn High School’s homecoming celebration. North Penn football coach Dick Beck said students and players are amped.

“The students here do a good job of coming out and supporting us; and especially with homecoming, we’re gonna have a large crowd. Everybody’s fired up for the game, no doubt,” Beck said.

North Penn is on a four game win streak, including a 27-0 blowout win against Central Bucks East, and a 28-7 win against Quakertown.

Beck says he’s encouraging his team to continue to focus, and to take it one game at a time.

“At each opponent we’re not worried about the next one; we’re always worried about the one we’re playing. That’s what we try to emphasize:  focus on this week’s game, “he said. “We’re just taking it one game at a time.”

Though confident in his team’s abilities, Beck pointed to some specific areas his players will have to watch out for in order for them to beat Pennridge.

“The key here is we gotta slow down Mike Class, their best running back, and I think we’ve gotta keep their best receiver, Stutzsman, from scoring big touchdowns,” he said.

“If we don’t play our best we will not win, I can guarantee you that. Our focus is, defensively, being at home and doing our jobs; and offensively, we’ve gotta be able to move the ball on the ground. We’ve gotta be able to run the ball with consistency to be successful. “
