Surgery Could be in Myers' Future

Brett Myers next start with the Phillies is in jeopardy after an MRI revealed fraying and possible tearing in the labrum of his right hip, said General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr.

The injury could end the right-hander's season if surgery is required.

For now the next move for the pitcher is to seek out more information.

"I don't know what I am going to do," Myers told the Philly Inquirer. "First I am going to get a second opinion."

Myers left his start against the Marlins Wednesday after experiencing serious pain. Myers got X-rays after the game that showed some bone spurring in the hip joint, according to the team. The MRI was to see if there was further damage.
