Iggy Makes Most of 1st All-Star Game

Sixers' star does a little bit of everything for the Eastern Conference All-Stars

There was no defense, plenty of wild shots and lots of scoring at the Western Conference All-Stars beat the Eastern Conference All-Stars 152-149 in Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game.

Despite the loss Sixers forward Andre Iguodala impressed in his first All-Star Game.

“I had fun. I had a lot of fun,” Iguodala told CSNPhilly.com. “I wanted to make sure I scored, first of all. We got that taken care of early. And then I just wanted to get the rebound, push it on the break and run the floor. And then at least get back on defense and try and cut the deficit.”

The Sixers’ star lived up to his reputation of filling up the stat sheet and actually playing defense.

Iggy had 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting, four rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in 14 minutes for the Eastern team.

After the game Iggy said he and the Sixers are poised to get back on the winning track after ending the first half of the NBA season on a five-game losing skid.
