Sixers Clinch a Playoff Spot

After a long week of hypothetical scenarios, the 76ers have clinched a spot in the playoffs.

What first started out as "if Philly wins three" or "if the Bobcats and Bucks lose three" is now over. The team topped the New Jersey Nets 115-90 Friday night.

The game started out fairly matched and the Sixers had an eight point lead after the first quarter. They kept the lead, consistently outscoring the Nets.

Thaddeus Young lead the Sixers with 22 points. Starting forward Elton Brand put up a solid 21 points.

Nets substitute Brandan Wright was the only player on either team to have a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

The NBA will announce the final playoff roster and schedule once all the regular season games are over.

The Sixers have already tweaked their website to sell playoff tickets.
