The Phillies offense was stymied again until a ferocious two-out rally in the ninth inning tied the Los Angeles Dodgers. But, the comeback wasn't enough as Chad Durbin gave up two runs in the top of the 10th and the Phils fell 5-3.
The Phils are now 8-12 at home. The loss meant that the Phillies have still only won one series at Citizens Bank Park this season.
The big knock for the Phils came with two outs in the ninth when catcher Carlos Ruiz knocked in two runs with double that tied that game at three.
In stepped Durbin for the 10th. He retired the first two batters, but then Russell Martin hit the tie-breaking double and Matt Kemp followed with an RBI double to lift the Manny-less Dodgers to victory.
The Dodgers, minus the suspended Manny Ramirez, won two of three in a rematch of the NL Championship Series.
Dodgers closer Jonathan Broxton (4-0) earned the win despite blowing a two-run lead in the ninth. Ramon Troncoso pitched a scoreless 10th to earn his second save, striking out Ryan Howard with a runner on to end it.
The Phils squandered a nice start by Cole Hamels. The Phils ace allowed two runs (one earned), seven hits and one walk over seven innings while striking out nine L.A. batters.

Next up for the Phils is a visit to the White House to meet with President Obama before they take on the Nationals for four games in the Nation's Capital. It will be a strange sight to see a .500 team (16-16) get honored for being champs.
