Phillies Plan to Roll Out Red Carpet for Premiere?

World Series film released Tuesday

The Phillies will be rolling out the Red Carpet on Monday but not for a big free agent -- instead Phils brass and players will be strolling past the paparazzi at the premiere of the "2008 World Series Film."

The World Series movie premiere will be held at The Bridge Cinema De Lux in West Philly on Monday night. The stars including pitcher Ryan Madson, announcer Harry Kalas, coach Milt Thompson and of course the Phillie Phanatic to name a few will start arriving at 6:30.

Fans will have a chance to get up close and personal not only with baseball stars but also the World Series trophy at the Bridge premiere. (Tickets appear to be sold out for the red carpet premiere)

The Official “2008 World Series Film” on DVD doesn't hit stores until Tuesday. The film features player, coaches and team personnel interviews and is narrated by Philly-guy and Oscar-nominee Terrence Howard

This collectible DVD and Blu-Ray versions features all the angles from the 2008 World Series, (does that include the Game 5 debacle?) including game footage and sound.

Major League Baseball will also hold world premiere red carpet screenings Monday at the following theaters:

  • Bala Theatre in Bala Cynwyd, Pa.
  • Montgomeryville 10 in Lansdale, Pa.
  • Showcase at The Ritz Center 16 in Voorhees, N.J.
  • Anthony Wayne Theatre 5 in Wayne, Pa.

Tickets for all the screenings can be bought at WorldSeries.com for $25 a pop.  Each moviegoer will also get their hands on a complimentary DVD copy of the “2008 World Series Film: Phillies vs. Rays.”
