Philadelphia is making its case to play host to the 2026 World Cup.

Philadelphia tourism and business leaders joined Mayor Jim Kenney at Lincoln Financial Field Monday morning to unveil the branding, logo and goal to host games as part of soccer’s biggest event in the world.

The United States has teamed up with neighbors Canada and Mexico to host FIFA’s 2026 men's tournament.

Philadelphia is hoping to build off hosting recent big events like the 2015 Papal visit, 2016 Democratic National Convention and 2017 NFL Draft to rise up as one of the U.S. cities that FIFA will select to host World Cup games, the City said in a news release.

The city's hotels and public transit, being the fourth largest Media Market in the U.S. and being named a World Heritage City are also being used in the push.

Comcast senior executive vice president David L. Cohen is part of the chair committee for Philadelphia 2026, which has the tagline "bring it."

Leaders are asking people to get involved in the push to host games by signing up on the Philadelphia 2026 website.

The U.S. last hosted the World Cup in 1994.
