Park Injures Hamstring, Out 2 to 3 Weeks

The already thin Phillies bullpen took another hit Wednesday night when Chan Ho Park suffered a hamstring injury.

Park hurt himself while throwing a double-play-inducing, inning-ending pitch in the top of the seventh inning, according to MLB.com.

He was in visible discomfort as he hobbled off the mound.

The righty felt a pop in his right hamstring, said Todd Zolecki.

The whole thing wasn’t good for Park or the Phils. He was arguably the most reliable Phillies reliever this season since he landed in the bullpen.

He was 2-2 with a 2.52 ERA in 38 appearances out of the pen.

Will Park be back in time for the playoffs? It doesn’t seem likely.

"[Park]’s probably going to be down a while," Manager Charlie Manuel said to the Daily News’ David Murphy.

On Thursday the Phillies announced that Park would be out two to three weeks, which means that he could miss the first round of the playoffs.

It was just the latest hit to a Phillies pen that already lost Scott Eyre, J.C. Romero and Clay Condrey to injury. At least the lefties Eyre and Romero hope to return soon.

And at least one injured Phil did return Wednesday as pinch-hitting specialist/third baseman Greg Dobbs was activated from the DL.
