NHL Last Night: Blue Jackets Keep Up Playoff Hopes

CHICAGO — Antoine Vermette scored two goals, and backup goalie Wade Dubielewicz made 27 saves to lead the Columbus Blue Jackets to their fourth straight victory, 5-3 over the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday.

Kristian Huselius, Raffi Torres and Rick Nash also scored for Columbus, sixth in the Western Conference — four points ahead of Edmonton and Dallas — in its bid to make the playoffs for the first time.

Vermette has three goals and three assists in four games since joining the Blue Jackets from Ottawa. Dubielewicz, making his first start since Feb. 6, earned his first NHL victory of the season.

Brent Seabrook, Kris Versteeg and Patrick Kane scored for Chicago.

Canucks 4, Kings 2

In Vancouver, British Columbia, Henrik Sedin scored twice in a 30-second span midway through the third period as Vancouver beat Los Angeles.

Sedin's outburst came less than a minute and a half after the Kings tied it on goals by Alexander Frolov and Anze Kopitar just 26 seconds apart.

Sedin put the Canucks back in front with the 100th goal of his career. He soon added No. 101.

Alex Burrows and Mats Sundin scored in the first period for Vancouver, and Roberto Luongo finished with 24 saves.
