McNabb: “I Want to Be in Philly”

Eagles QB clears up speculation about his future

Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb wants to play in Philly next season.

“(Philly)’s the only place I want to be,” McNabb told NFL Network’s Rich Eisen and Deion Sanders Wednesday.

"Neon" Deion translated that to mean that McNabb would leave if the right deal came along.

McNabb quickly denied any thoughts of greener pastures.

“I want to be in Philly,” he reiterated.

With McNabb under contract for next season, the Birds really control his future. But, No. 5 sees himself as an Eagle.

“I think it’s an exciting time for us this upcoming season,” he said.

D-Mac spoke from the sidelines of the NFC’s Pro-Bowl practice in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Only named to the team earlier this week, D-Mac appreciated the moment of his sixth Pro Bowl.

“I’m like the veteran in the whole thing,” he said before mentioning that some of his teammates watched him play in the NFL while they were in high school or college.

He was also so excited to see teammates like safety Quintin Mikell and long snapper Jon Dorenbos in the Pro Bowl.

McNabb sounded more like a politician than a QB when he defended the decision of top AFC QBs like Philip Rivers and Tom Brady to skip the game.

“You’re asking the guys to do a lot,” he said.

It gives other guys like David Garrard, Vince Young and Matt Schaub the chance to get a “feel for the Pro Bowl,” said McNabb.
