J-Roll's DL Fate Decided Wednesday

Shortstop strained his right calf before home opener Monday

The Phillies will decide whether Jimmy Rollins will be able to play ball Wednesday, the team said Tuesday night.

Rollins injured his right calf during pre-game warm-ups before Monday's home opener at Citizens Bank Park.

"Jimmy had an MRI at 2:00 this afternoon. We are reviewing the results of the MRI and will decide on Jimmy's status sometime tomorrow when we have the opportunity to meet as a group," Phillies GM Ruben Amaro said.

The shortstop was running across the field minutes before the first pitch against the Washington Nationals when the strain happened.

Fans and even the announcers didn't realize Rollins was injured until Wilson Valdez took his spot in the infield.

Rollins walked out of his MRI session at Jefferson University Hospital wearing a medical boot. He gave a smile and seemed in good spirits.
