Iverson Sits Out to Tend to Sick Child

A.I. to miss 76ers' game against Bulls

The Sixers will have no “Answer” Wednesday night.

76ers guard Allen Iverson won’t play against the Chicago Bulls because one of his children is ill.

It wasn’t clear what his child was suffering from. Iverson’s family asked for privacy on the matter, according to the 76ers.

The All-Star guard would sit out the home game Wednesday. He was already excused from practice on Tuesday to deal with the issue.

He was expected to play Friday at New Orleans.

A.I. isn’t what he used to be as he has averaged only 14.4 points in 25 games since he returned to the Sixers in December. Despite his lackluster performance (and the fact that he was on the Western Conference ballot) fans voted him in as an Eastern Conference All-Star for the Feb. 14 game.
