Iguodala, Young Lead Sixers Past Pacers

Young scores big for Sixers Tuesday night

Thaddeus Young scored 18 points to help the Sixers beat the Pacers 110-100 Tuesday night.

The Sixers gave an all-star performance, shooting nearly 60 percent in the first quarter.

Andre Iguodala, coming off back-to-back triple-doubles, finished with just a double-double, 16 points and 10 assists. Jrue Holiday scored 16 points and Jodie Meeks added 15 for the 76ers, who have won seven of eight to move three games over .500.

Tyler Hansbrough scored 26 points, Roy Hibbert scored 13 and rookie Paul George had a season-high 10 rebounds for Indiana.

The Pacers have lost four straight and six of seven. They started off 7-1 under interim coach Frank Vogel, but have struggled to defend since.

The Sixers shot 51 percent and forced Indiana into 20 turnovers. All five 76ers starters scored in double digits.

Danny Granger, Indiana's scoring leader, finished with 11 points on 4 for 11 shooting. He has shot just 34 percent during Indiana's losing streak.

The 76ers led 65-53 at the break.

The Pacers sabotaged their efforts to come back early in the second half with turnovers. Philly’s Spencer Hawes hit back-to-back baskets, then Holiday dunked an alley-oop pass from Iguodala to give the 76ers a 77-58 lead and force the Pacers to call a timeout.

A pair of free throws by Hansbrough cut the Sixers lead to 86-76 early in the fourth quarter.

But, the 76ers extended their lead to 96-80 on a layup by Holiday, but Indiana rallied, and a jumper by Hansbrough cut Philly’s lead to 100-91 with 2:42 left.

The Pacers trailed 100-93 and had the ball. Indiana's A.J. Price missed a 3-pointer, but Hibbert rebounded. He looked for a teammate, but threw the ball right to Holiday, and Meeks hit a 3-pointer at the other end to push the lead back to 10 points.

The 33-30 Sixers won't get much time to appreciate their win. They are back in action Wednesday night against the Thunder in Philly.
