“Hamles” Jersey Cries out for Spell Check

Who is Hamles?

That's the question on the mind of Phillies fans after a photo of a guy wearing a powder blue Phillies "Hamles" jersey landed on the Internet.

The unidentified fan obviously didn't do his homework before throwing on what he probably thought was a Cole Hamels jersey.

Nick Waters took the photo before a Phils Spring Training game against the Boston Red Sox last month. He recently posted the uni-watch photo on his Flickr page.

We did some research to see if the name flop could actually be an intentional move. It's unlikely that jersey faux pas was because the guy's last name is Hamles. No one named "Hamles" is listed anywhere in the country on Superpages.com.

So, lets assume the mistake was unintentional -- doesn't that make this picture priceless and funny?

"[It] makes me feel not so crazy for taking the photo in the first case," said Waters.

Maybe this fan should heed some advice before he purchases his next jersey.

"This is why you should always proofread your jersey before purchasing," said Meech.one at Fightins.com.

That's great advice for all you fans out there. You don't want to show up to a Flyers game with a "Cater" jersey, an Eagles game with a "MacNibb" on your back or a Sixers' game with "Eguodala" spelled out.
