Pa. native sets Olympic records in Women's 50M Rifle, 3 Positions

Pennsylvania-native Jamie (Beyerle) Gray was right on the mark Saturday morning when she set an Olympic final record on her way to gold in Women’s 50-Meter Rifle, 3 Positions.

Gray summed up her morning best in a post to Twitter.

"Great day on the range! Olympic Gold and 2 records, can't ask for more! #London2012"

Gray, who hails from Lebanon, took an Olympic record in qualification (592) into the final where she scored a 99.9 for a final score of 691.9 easily holding off challenges from Serbia’s Ivana Maksimovic and Czech Republic’s Adela Sykorova.

She clinched gold with a final shot of 10.8 -- just 0.1 from being perfect.

Gray is part of a shooting family, her husband Hank is a member of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit.

The 50M Rifle gold gives Gray a golden conclusion to her Olympics. She placed fifth in 10M Air Rifle last Saturday.
