The delayed start was first reported by NBC 10's John Clark.
The tarp is still on the field as of 9:30, according to Clark.
The delay was due to inclement weather that is expected to eventually pass through the Philadelphia area.
The Phillies and Rays game was supposed to start around 8:30 p.m.
