Fontenot, Hoffpauir Ready for Their “My Boys” Close-up

On the same night that Micah Hoffpauir, Mike Fontenot and Cubs broke out of their slump with a win over the Pirates, the pair appeared on the TBS comedy, "My Boys." The show, which follows fictional Chicago sportswriter P.J. and her mostly male band of friends, featured the Cubs in a story that took place at spring training in Arizona.

Mike Fontenot's acting debut should clearly be submitted for an Emmy. His delivery of, "Hey man, what are you doing with my girlfriend?" was riveting. Actually, he played the straight man pretty well. He discussed how he was attracted to crazy women with the show's character Brendan, also a crazy-women-magnet, and it was downright believable. So believable, in fact, that crazy women everywhere may be following after the diminutive infielder.

Micah Hoffpauir also made his acting debut, though he didn't have to stretch as much for his role. His part in the show required that he hit batting practice off of Mike, the braggart of "My Boys" who claimed that he could strike out a Major League hitter. Needless to say, Mike was not successful in striking out Micah.

Is it a coincidence that the Cubs' broke out of a slump on the same night they were featured on "My Boys?" Yes. It is a coincidence. However, even a coincidence may help the Cubs now. They'll take anything.
