Pot Charge Dropped Against Eagles' Parker

A marijuana charge against Eagles’ defensive end Juqua Parker could be gone like a puff a smoke.

Prosecutors have dropped a marijuana possession charge filed against the 10-year NFL veteran after he was allegedly caught with weed while up at Lehigh University for Birds’ training camp.

Northampton County prosecutors dropped the misdemeanor count last month, according to the Morning Call.

There were problems with the Aug. 5 police search that led to Parker's arrest, prosecutors said.

Parker was riding in a van driven by offensive lineman Todd Herremans when the vehicle was pulled over in Lower Saucon Township.

But Parker's attorney indicated that he planned to ask the court to suppress the evidence, prosecutors said. And District Attorney John Morganelli said a review indicated that the search was unlikely to be upheld.

Parker, 31, played four seasons with Tennessee before joining the Eagles in 2005. He had set a career high with eight sacks last season.
