Pronger's Concussion Traumatic for Family

Chris Pronger's wife says dealing with his season-ending injury has been emotional for the entire family

Flyers captain Chris Pronger and his family are taking it one day at a time, as he recovers from his season-ending concussion.

"You know what, it’s a tough go at home. We’re going day to day right now," wife Lauren Pronger tells CSNPhilly.com. She says Chris has good days and bad days.

“It’s been a lot of trauma going on and we’re just praying right now. He’s battling. He wants to be out there more than anybody," Lauren said.

Lauren and Chris have three kids and she said their two sons are a little confused by what’s going on and are often asking dad when they can go to a game or go out and play. "It’s tough for all of us to watch him go through this," Lauren said.

When Flyers GM Paul Holmgren made the announcement last month, he said Pronger would be out for the remainder of the season and the playoffs. “Chris will continue to receive treatment and therapy with the hope that he can get better,” Holmgren said.

On Wednesday, when Lauren talked to CSNPhilly.com, she said it had not been a good day for Chris. "We’re hoping for a better day tomorrow. . .a couple of good days in a row would be nice.”
