Delran's Carli Lloyd was a super sub in the Olympic Soccer Team's opening match against France.

New Jersey’s Carli Lloyd didn’t start the U.S. Women’s National Team Olympic soccer opening game but she sure did finish it.

Lloyd, who entered for Shannon Boxx in the 17th minute, struck the game-winner in the 66th minute as the Women’s Olympic team came back from a 2-0 early deficit to beat France 4-2 at Hampden Park in Glasgow, Scotland.

“I was prepared for anything,” Lloyd said post game.

French goalie Sarah Bouhaddi had no chance to stop Lloyd's 25-yard rocket as it found the left side of the net.

Game-winning goals in the Olympics are nothing new for the Delran, N.J. native. Lloyd had the game-winner as the Women’s Team took home gold in Beijing.

World Cup hero Abby Wambach got the U.S. on the board with a header in the 19th minute. Fellow striker Alex Morgan tied the game at 2 in the 32nd minute and put the game on ice with her 66th-minute strike.

Point Pleasant, N.J.’s Christie Rampone, the captain of Team USA, looked rusty early as she was beaten on one of France’s early goals, but she came back to play solid defense to help the U.S. win.

Fellow locals Heather Mitts and Nicole Barnhart didn’t play.
