Bynum Says Left Knee Still Hurts

Ailing 76ers center hopeful of return from knee trouble sometime in January but won't put timetable on debut

Andrew Bynum says pain in his left knee is keeping him from playing for the 76ers.

Bynum says his injured right is feeling better. Bynum still feels pain in his left knee when he walks and says there's no sense trying to risk making his season debut for the Sixers.

Bynum will have his knees examined again Dec. 20. Bynum says the worst-case scenario is he'll miss at least another month. But in the best case, he could be ready to start practicing and maybe be ready to play a game about a month from his exam.

"My right knee feels very good so hopefully when my left knee gets that way I'll be back," Bynum told CSNPhily's Dei Lynam.

Bynum has not or practiced or played for the Sixers since he was acquired in the offseason from the Los Angeles Lakers. He had been recovering from a bone bruise on his right knee and injured his left knee while bowling last month.
