Briere Set to Return to Lineup

Flyers center Danny Briere has been cleared to return to the team’s lineup Thursday, when the Flyers take on conference rivals the Washington Capitals.

“He looks good, so we’re pretty optimistic that we can get him in,” Flyers coach John Stevens told the Inquirer.

Briere has been out since March 5’s 5-1 loss to the Calgary Flames, when he reinjured his groin. In all, the Flyers’ center has missed 53 games this season.

In the 12 games he’s played, Briere has five goals and four assists. Last season, in 79 games, he recorded 31 goals and 41 assists.

"I just want to get back out there, get as prepared as possible for the playoffs," Briere said.
