94-Year Old Fan in a League of Her Own

Baseball Phanatic's been to every World Series in the past 30 years

It would be an understatement to say that Jessie Foyle loves baseball. She's got hats, she's got blankets, she's got scorecards, she's got tickets and best of all she's got memories.

"We had baseball for breakfast, we had it for lunch, we had it for dinner," Foyle said of her childhood.

America's pastime has been part of her family since before she was born. The 94-year old's father Harry Haigh played the game in both the majors and minors and even had a bat given to him by legend Ty Cobb.

"He was a pitcher, but his bat was so good that they transferred him to a catcher," she recalled. "He was a real baseball fan."

The seed that Jessie's father planted and nurtured helped the young fan grow into a full-grown Phanatic. "I think I must've been 5 or 6-years old and my father used to take me to all the games," she said.

Those trips to the ballpark turned into regular outings at every World Series in the past 30 years. Hanging with a group of nine guys, Jessie meticulously keeps score -- as she has for years -- and repeats calls of games passed.

"I didn't miss one game," Jessie said.

With so many games under her belt, Jessie was swimming in tickets and rather than throw them out or file them away she decided to design a souvenir you couldn't buy. A cape adorned with her tickets of Fall Classics past.

"A complete stranger came up to me, the first time I wore that cape, and offered me $5,000," Jessie said. She politely declined.

Though she may have the trinkets and that cape -- which earned her an audience with several U.S. presidents -- none compare to her memories.

"My first World Series, it was in 1950…I'll never forget that one," she said.

As for this year's series, Jessie will be sitting with her guys at Citizens Bank Park for Games 3, 4 and 5 keeping tabs on the World Champs.

"I like Chase," she says with a giggle. "He's a clutch man."

Jessie's prediction: Phils take the Series in five.
