Senators Casey, Toomey to Tour Philadelphia Navy Yard

Pa. Senators will conduct a fact-finding visit

U.S. Senators Bob Casey (D-Pa.) and Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) will visit the Philadelphia Navy Yard on Tuesday.

The pair has scheduled a fact-finding tour, according to a joint press statement. They will address the media after the tour, at the headquarters of Urban Outfitters.

The clothing retailer recently announced plans to add 1,000 jobs at its home base over the next three years.

The Navy Yard has been developed into a 1,200 acre waterfront complex of over 100 companies, since the naval shipyard closed in 1995. Earlier this year, the center was awarded federal stimulus financing for new construction projects.

Toomey was elected last November and took office on Jan. 3.

Casey, took office in 2007.
